Family Legacy Empire (“Family Legacy”, “we”, “us”) is a private space for families, run by AlphaLync AI LLC in Goodyear, Arizona. This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and the choices you have.
The short version
- Your family space is private. Only people your family invites can see what's inside it.
- We don't sell your information and we don't show ads.
- We use a small number of service providers to run the app. They may use your data only to provide their service to us.
- You can download your information or delete your account at any time.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address and the display name you choose.
- Family content you or your relatives add: names, relationships, birth and death dates and places, life stories, photos and videos, captions, posts, comments, reactions, events and RSVPs, albums and photo tags.
- Billing information: if your family subscribes, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your card details. We receive only a customer reference and subscription status, never your full card number.
- Technical information: basic logs (such as sign-in times, IP address and browser type) needed to keep the service secure and working. We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in.
Information about other people
A family tree includes people who may never sign up, including children and relatives who have passed away. Please add only what you're comfortable sharing with your family, and respect the wishes of living relatives who ask you not to include them or to remove something. Family admins can edit or remove people and content. People who have joined can edit their own profile.
How we use it
- To run your family space: show the tree, feed, photos and events to the members of your family.
- To send the emails you need: sign-in links and, unless you turn them off, short notifications when relatives post, comment or add events. Notifications say who did what; the content stays inside your family space.
- To write your family newsletter: when an admin asks for a draft (or on the monthly schedule), we send a summary of recent family activity to our AI provider to write a draft. An admin reviews and edits it before anyone else sees it.
- To bill subscriptions, prevent abuse, fix problems and improve the product.
We do not use your family's content for advertising, and we don't sell or rent personal information.
Who can see your information
- Members of your family space, according to their role. View-only members can see but not add content.
- Our service providers, which process data on our behalf: Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (web hosting), Resend (email delivery), Anthropic (AI newsletter drafts) and Stripe (payments).
- AlphaLync AI staff, only when needed to provide support, keep the service secure, or comply with the law.
- Others when required by law, or to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access is enforced in the database so one family can never read another family's content. Photos are served through short-lived private links. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password or email sign-in link and don't share your account.
Children
Accounts are for people 13 and older. Parents and guardians may add their children to the family tree and share photos of them within the family, and they're responsible for that choice. If you believe a child under 13 created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your information while your account or family space is active. You can download a copy of your information or delete your account at any time from your Account page, or by emailing support@alphalyncai.com. Deleting your account removes your sign-in, profile, posts, comments and reactions. Photos, events and people you added stay with the family unless you or an admin removes them. If you're the only member of a family, that family and its photos are deleted too. Backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule.
Your choices and rights
You can view, edit or delete what you've added, leave a family at any time, and ask us for a copy of your data or to delete it. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have additional rights. We will honor verified requests and won't treat you differently for making one.
Where data is stored
Your information is stored in the United States.
Changes
If we make important changes, we'll update the date above and let account holders know by email or in the app.
